Councillors unanimously reject the planning application

Over 30 local residents turned out to witness a unanimous decision by Ealing's councillors on the fate of 125/127 Church road. Councillors voted unanimously to reject the scheme and with good reason.

Councillor Wall gave a impassioned speech detailing the reasons this application should be rejected, citing both national and local planning guidelines. This followed representations from Hanwell local residents associations and the developer.

The local councillors were well informed and engaged with the process, the majority added their own comments against this development prior to rejecting.

The conservation area ruling won the day and common sense prevailed. However, the developer continues to pursue the original 8 unit scheme through the non-determination process, with another hearing due in early March. This ruling demonstrates developer cannot railroad residents into submission and through the local councillors Hanwell residents do have a voice.
